A word on religion
Google this time is very diplomatic, I must say. It tells me ,a religion can just be faith in a super human power. (I'm smiling at Google's intelligence).
2 questions. What is a religion technically ,and why a religion?
I don't know if we can ever conclude on a topic like this but, let me try pulling it down.
Religion is a collective group of human beings trying to get curious on philosophical and spiritual elements of life and trying to give it an outlook as a whole. (Remember ,a religion never writes down rules. It's only an attempt for an outlook.)
A religion is not formed by human force physically.
It is just a glueing of people having similar philosophical mindsets and thoughts. The origin of a religion just happens as naturally as dense clouds getting together to pour down as rain or all the stars coming up at a time in the sky making them innumerable.
So, such a group gets in more humans they start to promote their way of thinking into other men. Some understand and get into the conversations while others just start to follow.( followers only listen and rarely judge )
Now as a large number of people get closer, they tend to have an identity as a whole and so they will name their group.
Thus , a religion is formed just as naturally as anything on this earth. As the actual members of he religion understand stuff they are discussing, they set a lifestyle according to their mutual understanding of their religion while 'followers' follow without questioning. As we all know and understand that 'sanatana dharma' is the mother of all religions being followed, it was the first ever philosophical group created and followed. A few members split due to difference in their beliefs and so few other religions quite as good as the group of sanatana dharmis, were created but were later messed up by the FOLLOWERS and not by the believers.
Our first guru Sri Shankara was a philosopher and a believer of sanatana dharma.
Note : Sri Shankaracharya never gave us a religion or any rules of one. He tried to make us understand what this life and universe is all about and how we are connected to it, in very simple words.
He later observed people couldn't grasp the intellectual mechanisms of the spiritual assessments and thus he brings to us the personified version of the universe. He explains how everything is taken care of naturally and not completely by humans and there is an energy flowing through every single element and that energy is an unending fabric of souls which look separated into living beings but they are not. The same fabric connects us all and so it's a waste of time differentiating living and non living elements.
Ironically this personified version of the endless fabric that holds the universe under no space at all is being differentiated into different idols and temples and different stories about them and then mosques and crosses which still holding the same theory still fails is putting the last bit of information across that every single element is just one with one. That one is the
right and the wrong
Dark and the light
Slave and the king
Man and the woman.
So let's read, write, speak, shout and sing and sit down and finally realise we are all just a tiny ball of light burning on one desire. Which is to experience that unending energy. To experience God.
